Director- APAC Controller

The company delivers an enterprise data cloud for any data, anywhere, from the Edge to AI. Manage the close process for Asia-Pacific, including ensuring all inter-company transactions are recorded correctly; accruals are appropriately made and reconciliations completed. Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly accounts for submission to US for consolidation purposes. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records. Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans. Manage cash and disbursement process. Review and approve payroll prepared by outsource firms and ensure payments and journal entries are appropriately made. Provide support and analysis to HQ Finance departments - including Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Internal Audit and Treasury. Develop and maintain appropriate processes and controls to ensure all legislative, regulatory and accounting requirements are met. Raising awareness across the region of financial risk management, internal control and financial policies, procedures and practices. Experience in SOX compliance matters - understanding of theory and experience in the application of internal controls. Manage local requirements whilst considering the parent company’s policies and procedures. Manage the statutory compliance requirements for the Asia-Pacific subsidiaries, branches and representative offices in the region. Managing third party relationships including accounting firms, lawyers and auditors - taking responsibility for any follow-up issues and recommendations. Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of a performance system that derives maximum benefit for the organization and leads to improved organizational performance. Business partnering - providing value added commercial finance support across all functions. Partner with Sales and PS to manage effectively the company’s expansion into new countries. A team player with a “do whatever it takes” attitude with experience operating within a highly effective team. 10 years of relevant financial controller experience with hi-tech global companies, preferably software. Background in complex revenue recognition rules. Process oriented and highly organized. Experience of US GAAP and local statutory reporting in a rapidly growing, multi-currency, multi-jurisdictional environment. Proven team leadership skills in a fast moving environment - providing both direct reports and accounting teams with leadership, guidance and direction. Advanced experience in ERP systems and Excel, with experience in Netsuite preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or Finance. Chartered Accountant (CPA), or MBA.
