Director Engineering
Our focus on the company team is to build a new generation of tools for teams working in the entertainment industry. Grow and lead a large engineering team, comprised of 80 employees and contractors with a budget of $8m annually Implement highly available, scalable, micro-services based platforms, supporting critical business services for the subscriber platform, such as Licensing, Entitlements, Consumption Services, Customer Reporting, and Software Delivery Recruit, coach and develop a talented and highly motivated team of engineers to successfully deliver the strategic application portfolio from the most junior to the most senior Ensure strategic, architectural, organizational, and budgetary collaboration and alignment with your global counterparts Provide site leadership and representation for your teams based in the Autodesk Singapore location Communicate early and often, building a culture of trust and collaboration between engineers and teams across multiple offices and time zones Champion and drive best in class engineering practices and agility across the teams and larger engineering organization Drive results through your personal involvement and direct leadership Inspire and motivate team members to achieve maximum productivity and optimal creativity Guide Autodesk executives and business leaders with influence and negotiation to set expectations and manage risks, dependencies and tradeoffs inevitable in complex project delivery BS or equivalent in Computer Science 15 years of progressive, commercial software development experience Extensive experience designing and developing scalable, resilient, distributed applications Microservices architecture Event driven systems Distributed data stores, caching, and eventual consistency Observability at scale Deep understanding of scalable computing systems, domain driven design, software architecture, data structures and algorithms Excellent technical understanding and experience in one or more of: Java, C#, Javascript/NodeJS, Golang, Scala, C++ Experience with Amazon Web Services Experience with Agile, XP, and Scrum
