Employment Tax Senior Manager, Asia Pacific

Build and deliver an operating model for employment tax compliance in the region Provide governance, guidelines and recommendations on compliance matters to a wide range of partners Continuously monitor legislative developments to ensure internal processes remain current Develop trusted relationships across the organization to effectively educate and influence on key risk and control issues Utilize your specialized expertise to minimize compliance risks while decreasing administrative burdens where possible Anticipate potential roadblocks, identify opportunities for improvement and provide practical approaches to problem solving Oversight and management of government scheduled audits Oversight of Mobility tax program including review and accountability for tax return filings and tax equalization calculations, management of tax payments and tax equalization calculation settlements for assignments, trailing income including equity compliance Expatriate tax and social security expertise and consultation on complex transactions to assignee and business stakeholders including policy consultation and exception management Oversight and management of vendors including adherence to KPIs, engagement terms and invoice management Governance of tax technical positions on tax return filings Experience to include a minimum of 8 years in employment tax Chartered Accountant or Accredited Tax Practitioner Preferred candidates will have a combination of public accounting and industry experience Exposure to broader HR compliance matters is a plus Strong understanding of key concepts of global expatriate tax, interaction of taxes between jurisdictions, deep knowledge of Double Tax Agreements and residence requirements in major jurisdictions Deep understanding of expatriate taxation treatment of all remuneration components including cash components, LTIP and benefits-in-kind. Working knowledge of employment tax compliance frameworks for compensation, benefits and equity programs for multinational companies. Good understanding of interaction between expatriate and corporate tax, and the corporate tax issues surrounding mobile employees (eg. Permanent Establishment risk, transfer pricing etc) Ability to lead cross functional initiatives and project teams Ability to network, influence and utilize internal and external resources Experience working in a matrix environment with bold and dotted line reporting. Ability to lead through ambiguity and offer appropriate solutions that balance business needs and compliance. Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group High levels of organization and ability to present complex technical information in a concise manner to stakeholders. Ability to clearly articulate objectives, strong information seeking skills and ability to make things happen.
