Head of Human Resources

The employer is a leading global insurance organization. Lead the organizational structural, talent and cultural transformation of Asia Pacific in partnership with the regional CEO and leadership team. Establish and Lead the talent and succession development strategy, process and enabling learning & development capabilities by partnering with senior management in identifying critical roles, and key skill and knowledge gaps. Partner with regional management teams on organizational design, talent planning, employee training and development, diversity initiatives and strategy, employee relations, and individual coaching and mediating. Closely partner with regional leadership team to align and provide HR service, expertise, insight and solutions to the business aligned with global and regional business strategies. Contribute market insights to the development of regional strategies (based on the International strategies when required) and implement action plans, as active member of the leadership team Provide HR specific inputs to the development and execution of regional strategies, execution plans, and budgets. Partner with regional leadership team to develop and execute work force strategies focusing on talent acquisition, deployment, development and diversity. Drive performance management actions through the active support of the Regional Leadership team. Provide HR project leadership on significant business events within the region, such as, merger and acquisition, business reorganization and associated RIFs, based on market practice and in line with local regulations for each country/entity. Partner with and influence HR Centers of Excellence and regional leadership team to effectively design, implement, communicate, manage, and enhance HR programs and initiatives. Identify KPI’s to improve the quality of HR services and activities within region. Transform the regional and local HR capabilities and talent to a strategic partner who proactively initiates and drives relevant talent management activities which enhance and accelerate profitable growth. Drive and support employee inclusion and diversity agenda within the region. Ensure HR policies and practices are compliant with local regulations and manage risk for sustainable long term growth. Minimum educated to Bachelors level. Post Graduate qualification in the field of Human Resources, MBA or Industrial Relations desirable. Chartered Fellow of CIPD or equivalent preferred. At least 15 years of relevant HR experience in best-practice, high performance organizations, minimum of 5 years at senior level. Must have previous experience of working in APAC region and cultures, as well as having a deep understanding of regional labor law, both on-shore and off- shore. Previous experience of leading HR during merger and acquisitions and associated harmonization of terms and integration of workforce. Organizational Skills – personal efficiency, time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands are key. Communication Skills – Build relationships and collaborate with others, manage diverse personalities and viewpoints. Commercial acumen – The ability to understand the business strategy as well as finances and budgets. Professional Expertise – Understanding of regional employment law as well as key HR trends. Coaching and Mentoring – Ability to coach and mentor all levels within the business. Courage - The ability to challenge when required and provides alternative views. Trust – Become a trusted confidant of Regional President/CEO and Leadership team.
