Head of IT Operations, Commodity trading

The company is a growing boutique metals and mineral resources trading company, which deals in a wide spectrum of general metal resources and materials, including coal and iron ore, aluminium, copper, and precious metals. Reporting to the CIO, the manager is responsible to lead a team of IT executives in both Application and Infrastructure support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. As the firm undergo exciting transformation for their application and infrastructure, managing strategic IT projects will be one of the top priorities for the manager. The manager is required to analyse the current pain points and provide relevant recommendations for changes and hence value-add by optimizing resources and simplifying company processes. Some of the key projects are to build 24x7 highly scalable application support team, execute a next-gen infrastructure platform roadmap etc The ideal candidate should come with at least 12-15 years of relevant experience in commodity trading environment with a proven track record of building a highly effective IT ops support team. He or she should have relevant IT project management, systems and infrastructure experience, including 3-5 years of experience in managing a small team.
