Director, Legal & Compliance
The company makes investments in early-stage technology companies based in Southeast Asia. Advising the company and senior management on a broad range of legal, regulatory and compliance matters, including identifying areas of risk, providing guidance, and making suggestions for improvement Drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and interpreting agreements covering all CXA activities including financial offerings, joint ventures/M&A, nondisclosure agreements, licensing agreements, eCommerce agreements, service agreements and other partner and vendor agreements. Streamline contracting process with proposed templates Monitoring and interpreting the various laws, regulations, contractual obligations and industry best practices relating to its business activities including brokerage operations and its regional expansion Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices by developing and reviewing existing internal legal, compliance and ethics policies Ensuring our compliance framework falls beyond minimum standard, and planning and executing routine compliance self-assessment processes Review for gaps in compliance requirements, draft and implement appropriate policies and procedures Monitoring and supporting (and lead where required) the resolution of compliance risks, and actual or potential violations Monitoring for compliance of policies and procedures Working with CXA’s learning and development team to develop a more effective compliance training program Has a minimum of 8-10 years post-qualification experience Is familiar with Law and Regulations and industry requirements applicable to CXA’s business within APAC countries Has a high degree of professional ethics and integrity Is decisive and detail-oriented, with an ability to accommodate tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Is commercially minded, with the ability to think strategically and establish a trusted advisor relationship with internal clients; Ideally has experience working in a senior in-house role, or as a general counsel with Legal and Compliance experience Has outstanding analytical, communication, organizational, and negotiation skills Experience in a start-up or growth-stage company preferred
