Legal Counsel - Banking - Singapore

We are partnering a well-established Asian Bank with risk appetite to grow across all its business lines. You, as its newest in-house Legal Counsel, will be the backbone of its growth and expansion effort in the region. You will report to the Head of Legal in Singapore and work in a small team. This would present an exciting opportunity to those looking to move from private corporate/commercial practice or relevant corporations to start a career in the banking industry Not only will you be rewarded with a rare space in a stable bank that is only primed for more growth in the near future, you would be remunerated up to $120,000 on base with a competitive bonus. You will be responsible for: Supporting and assisting in all legal matters and issues across the bank's business lines Drafting and reviewing the bank’s standard templates Keeping abreast of and researching into any new relevant law or regulation's impacts on the bank's businesses and be a business partner and educators to the departments affected bythese updates Handling client disputes and managing external counsel in the event of litigation You will be: >PQE 5 acquired either in a law firm or in-house at a bank Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree Admitted Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore Familiarity with corporate financing, aviation financing, trade finance is advantageous Effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) to communicate with Head Office counterparts If the above speaks to you, we'd love to hear from you.
